Crafts Vision has become expressive of the heritage and cultural spirit of Punjab and Haryana.

It was setup in 1989 by Mrs. Diljit Kaur Kang (M.A. Fine Arts, M.A. History of Art) to save the decaying craft of Phulkari, Phulkari, which literally means ‘flowered work’ conjures up happy memories of the old Punjab’ whose boundaries stretched from Peshawar to Delhi and Ladakh to Multan.

Diljit Kaur Kang’s husband Dr. Kanwarjit Singh Kang (M.A. History of Art, M.A. Ancient India Heritage and Culture, M.A. English, Five years diploma in Painting, PH.D, author of 8 books and hundreds of articles written on various aspects of art and crafts) helped her continuously with his collection of hundereds of photographs of art and crafts objects.

The efforts to save this decaying craft flourished into a business because of phulkari embroidered item’s demand in market. Crafts vision is now working on purely hand embroidered phulkari items of a vast range including dupattas, stoles, jackets, ladies suits, lehngas, sarees, bed sheets, pillow covers etc and other utility items.
